Château Le Devoy Martine

Château Le Devoy Martine

In a quiet part of the Rhône Valley appellation of Lirac, Veronique Lombardo of Château Le Devoy Martine crafts understated and complex wines on her 4th generation family owned domaine.  With 40 hectares of land, Veronique strives to keep the character of vineyard in the bottle from her gravelly clay soils mixed with some limestone.  Very few oak barrels are used in her wines; our notes are highlighted by notes such as "tangy", "expressive" and "packed with fruit".  The entire range of wines show restraint and subtle layering of flavors that are good indicators of the vintage and the terroir that she cultivates.

Presently about 90% of the wine produced is devoted to red wine production. Several grapes are cultivated on the property using of the classic white and red Rhône varieties with a total production of approximately 10,000 cases. However newly planted vermentino vines hold great promise for future, while also giving a nod to the family's Italian roots. Château Le Devoy Martines' wines offer great value and character from this corner of southern France.

Château Le Devoy Martine Vin de Pays du Gard Rouge

Château Le Devoy Martine’s entry level red makes quite the impression with its’ raspberry, hibiscus and spice components. A hefty dose of Carignan helps this spunky red maintain a bit of its wild child characteristics often found in the variety too.

Château Le Devoy Martine Côtes du Rhône Rouge

Château Le Devoy Martine’s Côtes du Rhône is an elegant rendition on a red wine from this sunny corner of France. Notes of red fruits, strawberries and forest floor make it a great accompaniment to grilled chicken, pizza or an aged goat cheese.
